Abstract

The goal of this paper is experimental comparison of two methods for finding global illumination distribution: the Deterministic Radiosity method and the Monte Carlo method based on Forward Ray Tracing. Turbo Beam Tracing (TBT) software developed by INTEGRA, Inc. was used to actually do the experiments. We accomplish the comparison on simple scenes where theoretical results are available; also realistic interior scenes were used. Results of the comparison are presented as time / accuracy graphs; also visual flaws of images are discussed.
